About Tom Leonard

Tom Leonard has spent his entire life working hard to make Michigan safer and stronger, and now he wants to do the same as our next attorney general.

Tom fought crime as a drug prosecutor in Genesee County, putting some of Michigan’s worst criminals behind bars. He prosecuted murders, drug charges, elder abuse, and violent assaults to help the families of Flint find justice in the most difficult times.

Tom also served as an assistant attorney general, defending Michigan taxpayers from frivolous lawsuits. Tom is the only candidate with experience working in the attorney general’s office, and he has the experience necessary to hit the ground running on Day One.

As Speaker of the House, Tom quickly delivered on his promise to stand strong for conservative values by paying down billions of dollars in debt, passing pro-life and pro-2nd Amendment legislation, and refusing to back down to political pressure from the Lansing establishment. Tom was fought tooth and nail by political insiders and the media when he stood up for an income tax cut and the repeal of driver responsibility fees, but he fought for more than a year until the opposition relented and he delivered on both.

Tom Leonard is a consistent, proven leader who has taken on the tough issues and gotten results for Michigan families. We know he won’t back down from doing what’s right when the going gets tough, because we have seen him lead from the front every step of the way no matter what.
